4th of July Week 2009

Well the past week has been a full one! I was off the entire week, which started with Suzy, Matt & Kiana coming down from Denver. We took in dinner, sunset, and dancing at Oasis. Followed the next night with an Express game followed by pre-4th of July fireworks (which were duds).

Friday the kids and I headed down to Palacios for the weekend with Terry. Palacios was celebrating its Centennial. It was refreshing to enjoy a small town celebration! The fireworks were amazing...it was the city's first year to light electronically instead of by hand. (Apparently in the past, the fireworks were set off at the end of the pier, so if anything went wrong, the guys could just jump into the water before the display caught fire.) It was so relaxing walking the seawall listening to the water. The morning of the 4th we got up early and walked down to the seawall. We joined maybe 100 other participating in a 1 mile run...some of us fast walking. Beka ended up be the overall women's winner, she cross the finish line a little over 7 mins., winning a little trophy. Of course the kids enjoyed two days of fishing, even though we didn't catch any keepers.

We then headed back to Round Rock to enjoy spending time with Kiana. She is one crazy 2 year old!!! I should have taken more videos of her talking. She is one smart cookie! One of her favorite places to visit was the Kawaii Shaved Ice in down town Round Rock. Always good!!

The week ended as it began, at the Oasis. Cousin Katie & Jason and the boys coming up from Houston. Both Timothy and Lewis are growing so fast. So good looking and so well behaved! All of the kids really enjoyed dancing the night away to the Eggman!
